What you're touching on in a very slight way here is that for a lot of brands the overarching reason to get one of their cars is snobbery, pure and simple. Getting a Genesis is all about getting a great car and not paying a markup for plastic badges on the front and back of it.
Frankly the kind of people who would crap on you for buying a Genesis instead of an Audi, Porsche or what-have-you, are the kind of snobby idiots who'd gladly buy a $200 T-shirt if it has an Armani logo on it.
A friend of mine was one of the first people in Calgary to get a G70 in 2018, and it was a great car in the five years he had it.
