And I think they need to poke at how to hit more in the 2nd round. We are dealing with a small number of picks, but it seems to me that perhaps they have been too safe with those picks. I'm not one to get tunnel vision on a certain prospect in the draft, but Stromgren over The Stank, and Ronni over Lane Huston (though they may have been worried about a Re-Fox) is puzzling to me. I liked the Morin pick so perhaps shifts under Conroy.

For me the 2nd is the precise time for home run swings. Because their are always guys in the 2nd that have high end potential, but likely have a flaw that causes them to drop. But picking those guys is how you end up with a Brayden Point, Nikita Kucherov, Adam Fox (3rd I know), etc.
Stromgren over Stankoven I can kind of get...you took a smaller forward with Coronato in the first round. Stankoven really hadn't blown up yet, and hadn't played at all that year due to COVID. Stromgren had okay production in Sweden for his age in his Draft year but regressed after that which was the problem.

The Ronni over Hutson one is unforgiveable to me though.

Ronni had poor production in Finland, and this organization needed a top offensive defenseman prospect so badly, with the pipeline being pretty slim at the time.

I remember on CP nobody thought Hutson would make it to 59 but when Hutson fell to 59 it seemed like the obvious pick. Especially since it was discussed Hutson was one of the guys the Flames interviewed at the combine that week.
