The Huberdeau contract is what happens when an owner gets his feelings hurt.
Nobody in the organization could’ve talked Edwards out of this.
I’m sure they tried - it’s widely known they had a futures based deal and a “win now” offer on table for Tkachuk and they went with the one Murray wanted.
At the end of the day, it’s Murray’s team. If he doesn’t want to do what the GM advises, the GM can resign.
Otherwise, the job is to carry out his orders.
