The Pens have made their 3rd and 4th deals of the offseason.
In the first deal the Penguins have sent veteran goalie Martin Gerber and a 2008 3rd to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for prospect Igor Grigorenko and Mathieu Garon. We feel that although we take a slight downgrade in net on this deal that the risk/reward factor of Grigorenko is worth a shot, we all know he has not been the same since his accident, but we are hoiping that a full recovery leads him to play like his oldself on the ice."
In the second deal the Pens have acquired young 2 way forward Ryan Kelser and a 1st round pick for forward Jochen Hecht. "We felt that we could afford to downgrade our forward crew in order to get us into a solid draft postion for this draft. We are not sure if Ryan remains in our plans yet or not."
