To have any shot of contending the team needed a goalie, so not sure what folks think the alternatives were. And for the most part Markstrom has been a legit #1, removing last season and the horrible playoffs against the Oilers.
i don't see Markstrom as being one of Tree's glaring errors.

Removing all the data points that don’t support the conclusion is not analysis. I think Treliving was justified to spend money after the 18-19 season, but spending it on goaltending is just a bad idea in my opinion.
