Yes basically he bet on the core he had built, and prematurely perhaps. But the manifestation of that error was in the Neal, and Hamonic moves.
To have any shot of contending the team needed a goalie, so not sure what folks think the alternatives were. And for the most part Markstrom has been a legit #1, removing last season and the horrible playoffs against the Oilers.
i don't see Markstrom as being one of Tree's glaring errors.
