Mike Richards is a prime example of a player with mental health issues where the team (Dean Lombardi) travelled to his summer home to talk to him about getting help as well as seeing concussion specialists. Important to note that the NHL treats both addiction and mental health issues through the players assistance program.
When Richards didn’t deal with his mental health issues and was caught with Oxys at the border his contract was terminated and LA got off with a significantly reduced cap hit over many years.
I’m not sure what I’ve said that is offensive Jiri so I can’t really address your comment.

The Flames would lose the grievance because there’s zero evidence of mental illness.
The Players Assistance Program is voluntary only. Not relevant.
And you are streeeeettttching with Mike Richards. He wasn’t terminated for “mental health issues” at all. The Kings claimed a material breach of his contract because of his alleged breaches of customs/border laws.
