Heck, look at Vegas, Colorado, LA, top teams in the conference who’ve not invested in big name, big money goaltenders, using the cap space to build their roster elsewhere and going cheaper in net.
Maybe the pendulum swings back towards goalies again, but in a cap world where we’ve seen depreciated costs for any assets with a decent cap hit and term, I have my doubts.

This is very true, but part of me thinks that you need to at LEAST find a goalie that can be somewhat good at stopping pucks. Lots of meh goalies at the moment.
