Chicago isn’t touching that contract with a ten foot pole. They’ve indicated they will rebuild slowly.
And Hossa was still a very good player. Perry was playing well and his cap hit was not relevant to Chicago. Neither was Toews. Seabrook had double hip surgery.
Insurance companies only pay if players are really injured.
