It was a good post to put the performance for the salary in perspective.
Neal was supposed to be a complementary player to provide secondary scoring which never happened because Gaudreau-Monahan-Lindholm worked and the 3M line worked. So he played with Bennett and Jankowski and sulked about it, then he got shipped out for another boat anchor contract.
Neal was not the highest paid Flame of all time. I think he was 4th on the team that year.
Everyone was complaining about Neal but the Flames had one of their best seasons that year despite him, as opposed to missing the playoffs.
