To get rid of Huberdeau you’re going to have to take a similar contract back or eat salary. I’d prefer to not eat salary and I think Jones would add more value as a D man than Huberdeau would as a winger.
Then you could dump Tanev and Hanifin and still have a top 3 set of D.
If you could dump Markstrom to a contender you’d have quite a bit of cap space to work with in the offseason to try and pay for scoring. The flames are going to have to pay for scoring in my mind. They don’t have anyone in the organization that fits that bill outside of Coronato and maybe Sharangovich.
