He doesn't have much history, two years of good regular seasons and zero play-off success in the AHL with the best goalie in the league is fine but not great. His time in the WHL was pretty short with nothing of note in terms of success.
The only reason he would be considered for a head coaching job with the Flames was because he was in the organization, if he has the same resume with the Jets AHL team there would be zero chance he would be even considered. He is the exact kind of hire you are complaining about, cheap and below average.
