Just finished Slay the Princess, an indie horror(ish) game, and really liked it.
The mechanics are basically "choose your own adventure", but it's got nice graphics and good voice acting, it's quite well written and just overall very well done, a fun and quite satisfying experience to play. I giggled out loud quite a few times and some of the horror is pretty creepy.
It's all about the meta(narrative), which I'm generally not a huge fan of, but it worked very nicely here.
It's not very expensive (about 16€ on Steam) and I would recommed going into it with very little prior knowledge. Took me about 4 hours to get two different endings so not a huge time commitment. I'll likely give it at least one more playthrough.
So, would recommend checking it out. It's got excellent reviews and was recommended on Second Wind (which is how I found it). Might become one of those indie games everyone talks about in a year.
