The only problem is firefox SUCKS when it comes to streaming online video. It can't play (or so i've found) most videos.

Have you updated to the newest version of IE? I know a friend of mine was having that issue as well in fact the pop up's were actually opening his cd-rom drive after running some cleaners and updating IE he said it went away.
