Tate also did a collaboration with another fairly successful artist from Calgary who came along a few years earlier (Elizabeth Lowell Bolland - a.k.a Lowell). Lowell's song Palm Trees was featured in FIFA 15, and has 1.2 million views. It's nice to see local artists in the city promoting each other like that. For whatever reason, Lowell is more popular in Europe than Canada though.
I still think Tegan and Sara probably deserve a mention, but they have been around for a long time and their stardom didn't come overnight.
