Greer has been given an opportunity and he’s making the most of it so far.
I think he brings a physicality to the lineup that we need, he has no problem sticking up for his teammates, and seems to have the respect of everyone.
Greer was the 39th pick overall and clearly the combination of size and skill is there. I think it’s taken Greer a bit to hit his stride, but I would not trade him away for a pick at the deadline.

We need to be all over picking up draft capital right now. If a guy like Greer comes in and plays really well in his role, like he has, you go to him as a pending UFA and say "we need to talk contract now and if we can come to an agreement that works we'd love to have you going forward, but if you're going to wait until the season is over we will trade you before the deadline".
This is a not a playoff year and he's a pending UFA, so there is no value in keeping him for the season if he's going to test free agency. You take a 3rd or 4th or whatever it is.
