The good thing is there's usually never any controversy about whether it's in or not when it's a Bolts vs Flames game.

And just to clarify, it was NOT in.

Only Flames fans think otherwise and still holding onto that grudge.

I feel like the defensive system is;

1. See how many reversals you can get away with before giving it away
2. Lose your man a minimum of three times
3. Let Vasy face a grade A opportunity

This first period has been....well, a period of hockey.


Neither team really doing much to threaten the net.

Total snooze fest

A so-so 1st period. It's the same issue as most nights where Calgary's best chances came off of what we gave them. It's a 0-0 game where points are very possible tonight and we're going to shoot ourselves in the foot once again with these turnovers. If we could just be smarter and make teams beat us instead of beating ourselves.

We kind of played the same way against the McDavid's but they were fast and skilled. It will eventually bite us if we don't sort it out.

I see the game plan is once again depend on Vasy standing on his head and sinking a few low risk shots that make it in somehow, seems like a sound strategy.

His teammates weren't good Thursday night and they're not good tonight either. They need to show up as well. Would be nice to see them pay Vasy back for the other night, and not once again go through the motions of another loss

There are systemic issues and our blueline depth sucks (boy did that happen quickly), but the problem with Vasi is that he's a $9.5M cap hit until the end of 2028...we're not even halfway through that contract and he doesn't look good at all. Unless he turns it around, this is a massive albatross sitting on our books. Vasi at that salary is expected to be one of the 5 best goalies in the league...right now he doesn't look like one of the 25 best goalies in the league.

Having faced Gourde, Coleman and Belly in the last couple of games makes you miss having players that could contribue in both ends of the ice.

Those guys can't hold Cirelli's jock. The dude is so good. He's on pace for 20 goals and plays defense so well we get scored on regularly. Wait... hang on a second...

Was at the game, vasy sucked

This game is a microcosm of why this is not a playoff team. Need to stack wins, got insanely lucky in the last one and instead of coming out and building on it against a bad team, this is the effort level. Generating absolutely nothing offensively and can’t manage the puck. Only positive you can say is the defense is getting better from a quality chance generation standpoint but it doesn’t matter because they can’t get a routine save.

Oilers getting pumped, Calgary beating Tampa and the Coyotes are going to beat Buffalo.

That’s the thing- the Oilers have to play an absolutely perfect game to win and doing so takes a toll on the team- and historically- teams that have to do that have nothing in the tank for the playoffs

Quite literally all the ground we made up has disappeared in two games. More than 5 points out of a spot and everyone back in front of us.

This game is my fault because I saved 30% on my car insurance by switching to Geico and the wraapppped in red event.

This 3rd period tells a lot... if the team was able to come out ripping it up and at least push hard for a chance at a point at least.. we'd know this team has the heart and confidence to be competitive vs any team in any situation.. but we really aren't seeing that so far in the 3rd.
