We still don’t know if the franchise has committed to rebuild. Selling off the UFAs this year may be the re-tool, and then next season back to trying to be good again.
This team is going to have around $16m to fill one forward and three defence positions. They can be big buyers in the UFA market if that’s the direction they want to go. And if that’s the case, may as well look for players that can play well with Huberdeau.
I’m not saying that’s what the team should do. But I think it might be the direction they choose.
