Sounds like Carolina is calling up their top goalie prospect right from the ECHL. Not sure I've ever seen a player called up from the ECHL to the NHL before.
As an aside it's pretty crazy that Carolina doesn't have an AHL affiliate.
Way to invest nothing into player development. Honestly negligent by a franchise to just leave their player development in the hands of other organizations pretty much.

This surprises me because of the sheer amount of success the Huricanes had in turning prospects into NHLers. I just associate great drafting and player development with the Canes.
Aho(2nd round pick), Slavin(4th round pick), Pesce(3rd round pick). Not to mention their 1st rounders of Svechnikov, Necas, and Jarvis. Then you have a bunch of guys they traded, like Loustarinen, Lindholm, Hanifin, and Foegele.
