Hey folks,

Need some help or suggestions here.

Basically, I got a hand-me-down comp that is miles better than my old one. The problem is, it was broken, infected, and all that jazz. I've been fixing it up, and seems to be working great. There are some problems though. No matter what i'm doing, I get IE pop-ups (usually ads) every couple minutes.. its driving me scatty!!! I don't even have explorer opened, so I don't understand. I've tried a tonne of adware programs, spybots, virus scans, and just can't seem to figure it out. I tried uninstalling IE (that didn't work) enabling block pop-ups, firewall.. you name it, it keeps getting through.

Anyone have this problem, or have another way to get rid of internet explorer?

Oh, and i just noticed this.

Its putting friggin ad icons ON MY DESKTOP! How in the hell...
