Nobody really knows. Some people may think this is more of a retool but once they sell off all the the pending UFA's this roster is going to be one of the worst in the NHL and there's nothing in free agency or the prospect base that's going to prevent that. The Flames won't be the first team to head into a rebuild kicking and screaming as eventually the lack of talent in pipelines and roster always catches up with organizations. I like that the effort level has been there most nights and would rather watch a bad team putting in the effort night after night than a mediocre bubble team going through the motions. You have to have realistic expectations and embrace the process of rebuilding as make no mistake, this team is heading into a rebuild.
