This is the frustrating part. They introduce subjectivity into the review. Listening to the justification, the skater can resume a shot attempt even after the goalie has interfered with progression. Suddenly now, the shot attempt is the defining factor. If this is the case, then anytime a skater loses the handle on the puck and it accidentally slides through the goalie into the goal, it should be waved off, because there was no actual shot attempt. I mean, you can't have it both ways, can you?
Quit allowing refs to make subjective calls; they are almost certainly going to be wrong. It's unbelievable how these calls butcher a good game. In this case, it is the Flames in the shoot-out. We already know they're going to lose, so can we just lose normally without new ref-inspired ways to do so...
