You can’t consistently recruit what doesn’t exist. Professional hockey is a small industry and there aren’t many hidden gems sitting undiscovered in other leagues. Rittich is a short lived exception until proven out otherwise.

Well, now they do trust Copley who has similar stats as the "NHL vet" who is making $4M.
And I seem to remember the first "NHL vet" in a Flames uniform. Wonder if we could have used that goalie for 1x$1M.
I think teams will eventually figure out this inefficiency.
