I wouldn't be surprised if more than just TSN and Rogers enters the bidding war. Amazon, Disney, Netflix, etc. You just know Bell wants to put all NHL games on Crave though or something like that.
Also, anyone who's a Flames fan in Canada but not in Alberta or Saskatchewan is going to want Rogers to win the national rights. Because they have them, they're able to do 40-50 Flames games national each year but without the rights, the maximum number of Flames games shown nationally would be something like 18-20 like it used to be in the TSN days.

Is it really? The Canadian broadcasting market is nowhere near as lucrative as it is in the US. There's not nearly as much money spent on talent or product. I simply don't see a massive deal coming. The NFL doesn't even try in Canada as they flipped their product to DAZN where you can get Sunday ticket cheaper than you can in the USA. I do think the NHL may be able to get close to the same amount of money total by splitting the deal with networks but I just don't see them ever getting a better deal than the one they are getting out of. The viewership numbers and revenues simply don't support it as Rogers can attest.
