Now, that's not exactly fair and is cherry picked. But if you look at 4-5 picks there's a lot of good players, not as many elite/team altering ones. Carey Price, Cale Makar. That's about it.

No draft positions are infallible, but just playing the odds, combined with the hit rate on our amateur scouting, gives us a much better chance of adding a franchise-altering player.
There are no better alternatives right now that I can see.
