It was easy to see the Flames as a bounceback team this year. Huberdeau went from top 10 scorer to afterthought middle-sixer and Markstrom went from Vezina candidate to bottom 5 starter. If both of those turned around and they played anywhere near their historical abilities, this team would be doing some damage.
Unfortunately, both seem to be absolutely cooked and have actually gotten even worse than their already bad 2022-2023. Nobody is scoring and the team can't stop pucks, not a recipe for winning.
