If Nylander is hesitant to allow the trade to go through, you just tell him we will flip him 50% retained to a contender or to a team that wants a sign and trade. If Toronto is trading him they don't want to re-sign him. Take the 8 year extension to the highest bidder rather than the 7 at free agency.
