It. Is. Brutal.

Trying to get a job right now is straight-up brutal.

One kid looks like he's going to get hired pretty soon here but the other one didnt put in nearly as much work and he's going to have to keep trying.

But its hard out there in the job scene. So...keep your head up and keep trying.
Kudos for helping others to find jobs in your profession.

I have experienced more ups an downs in Calgary than most here, and you can bet as bad as things may seem now, they will get better.

It occurred to me that when times do improve, along with the job market, employers are going to be asking what your young accountants did with their time during the down times. In this respect, I think they would be adding to their experience and increasing their chance of employment by volunteering for organizations like Community Associations, or by helping people who have inherited small companies with little to no experience in managing company books and affairs. I would guess there are a lot of those situations in Calgary.

I have found that, when you volunteer, you meet a lot of great people, and are paid your wages in many unseen ways.
