Ohtani and Yamaoto played together one season in Japan on the same team.
Does Ohtani float the idea to teams like Toronto that he would take a discount per season to be able to play with Yamamoto? Especially if they are both moving countries (to Canada)? Again, Ohtanhi isn't about the money or the fame...it's winning and being comfortable so he can be the best player he can be. Him being able to show a countryman the ropes of North America and play with, would make him comfortable and give the team a better chance to win, and Yamamoto would play even better if he was comfortable off the field with a mentor. Sure, I'll go with that theory on this wild ride.
