I don’t get how a guy who won his share of trades by being aggressive and opportunistic and targeting elite or near elite players - Dougie 1 was fair value, and Dougie 2 was a huge win - became so cautious and ever more enamoured with guys who clearly were not that.
He undeservedly gets handed the keys to a McLaren and he’s trying to source his parts through an Auto Value.

Yeah he became way too cautious later in his tenure and too fixated on tinkering with the edges of the team instead of swinging for the fences like he did earlier on to make tangible improvements in areas of need.
