I completely agree. Candelario benefited by the timing of his free agency. I’d rather spend the money is other ways. Keeping Martinez behind Candelario for three years just doesn’t make a lot of sense for the Jays.
We can likely piecemeal third base this year between Biggio, Schneider, Barger, and Martinez plus any cheap free agent/waiver wire guy that they might pick up.
