You can be sure that the trade request did rub guys the wrong way. Of course it would. It would still rub guys the wrong way if Zadorov went about it the right way and either spoke directly to Conroy behind closed doors asking for the trade, or had his agent do it for him in private, as it is still turning your back on your teammates. You most certainly don't throw that hand grenade at the team unless you have already spoken in private, and feel that the GM is not taking your request seriously.
However, the players had a closed door meeting, hashed it out, and moved past it. People can do things others don't agree with, and find a way to move past it. It certainly sounds like everyone who has spoken about Zadorov in the last week really likes him, and Zadorov went out of his way a few times to say that the guys in this locker room are his best friends for life. When you look at his trade request, and still see players talking about him positively, you know that his teammates generally really liked him.
I will not wish him well on a professional level for as long as he wears that ugly jersey, but I do wish him well with his personal life. He seems to be a genuinely good human being.
