Part of me hates that conservatives have started this whole "look how much their spending" gimmick, especially since they always grift way way harder, but their supporters are the ones who care and will forgive pretty much anything they do, but would absolutely blow up if Notely has spent a tenth of this. To bad we borrowed money to maintain government operations, everyone knows that was an unforgivable sin that set us down the path towards Smith.
At the end of the day, government is going to spend money sending dignitaries places, and it's always going to sound like too much money. This pales in comparison to threatening steal our pension money from it's current management firm to invest it in high risk stocks, or buying a 1.5 billion dollar project dead on arrival, or firing 5 health care executives to hire 8, or a systemic failure to understand that levying taxes is required to sustain the government services that even they clearly expect. I don't think we need to point to one of the perks of holding a high profile position is the problem when the UPCs money problems are so much more vast and deeper than taking a nice trip on the company dollar.
