yeah Conroy talking about the value of having all three retention spots gives me hope. Based on the Flames' history, it's easy to be cynical about this, but I'm willing to give Conroy and the team the benefit of the doubt here. If they are willing to retain salary for all of Lindholm, Hanifin and Tanev, it makes the return more stomachable.
Really hoped for a 2nd, but a 3rd and a 5th isn't that bad in a nutshell in a deal without salary retention. What irks me is the fact that the 3rd is so far down the road, but I guess they'll have opportunities to add more 2024 and 2025 picks between now and the deadline.
