I keep thinking this feels like the opposite of the Brent Sutter days.

If you remember his first season behind the bench, the Flames had one of their best starts ever and were fighting for first overall in early December (they beat San Jose on HNIC on December 5 -- the night of the Scorpion save, to move to within 4 points of the Sharks for first overall with 3 games in hand, and had an identical record as Chicago -- who would win the Cup 7 months later).

After every game, a dour Sutter would come out and complain that even though they were winning, they weren't winning the right way and needed to start playing his system better. By the end of that season, he finally had them playing his system and they missed the playoffs for the first time since the '04 run.

This year, they struggled to play the system to start the season and looked completely disjointed. Now that things are clicking, they're starting to win.

If only they could figure out the PP, then I might start believing.
