I thought Plummer played really well actually. I like him as the Broncos CB. He's been unfairly hammered. He had a lot of unlucky interceptions this season...and I'm being honest. He does have the odd bonehead pick that makes you shake your head but I can live with that. Elway struggled with that as well...always trying to make something happen. I like his fire (I don't think there are very many QB's in the league that can surpass his intensity) and I like his ability to shake off his own mistakes. A MUST in the NFL. Ask Brian Griese. I hope he stays in Denver, though I would like to see the Broncos draft a blue-chipper at some point.
It might have been a little closer if the Broncos didn't have to start Roc Alexander at corner. He was an undrafted rookie free agent, but injuries to Lenny Walls and Willie Middlebrooks forced him into the starting role. Poor guy. At this point in his career all he has is speed, and that's not enough.
Might have been closer....wouldn't have changed the outcome.
The Broncos are really young. They have a few good looking rookies in Bell, Luke and Watts that could make the offense even better next year...but they need some help on the DL and another good corner would be nice. Depth to cover for injuries like Trevor Pryce had this year on the DL is a must. Still lots of reasons for this Broncos fan to be optimitic.
I just hope Rod Smith sticks around for a few more seasons. I love that guy.
