This has been a career week for the most valuable player in the NHL who has never suited up for a game. His name is Capellino Spacek, but everyone calls him Cap Space for short. Every GM wants him on the team, but no coach wants him in the lineup.
A few days ago, thanks to Corey Perry running out his welcome, the Blackhawks traded Perry for Space. They then turned around and traded Space and a fifth to the Canucks for Beauvillier. Now Space and the fifth, plus a future third, come to Calgary for Zadorov.
I hope Space travels light, because it would be a killer to pay excess baggage fees on all those flights. On the plus side, when he gets traded out of Calgary, he'll be able to pay for his next flight with frequent-flyer miles. I wonder if the fifth-round pick will travel with him.
