I've mentioned this before, there is a difference between stealing food and essentials and stealing luxuries.
For instance, if I can steal a $200 iPod...I can afford to sell that to you for $20 or $50...because I never paid for the up-front cost so regardless of what I sell it for, its all profit for me.
So you steal ~$900 worth of stuff, sell it for $500 or whatever, and then rinse, repeat over and over again.
