There definitely seems to be almost a split personality feel to this album. Half of the songs are good, heavy rock songs, the other half are lame ass radio ballads.
Songs that I really liked:
2. Given Up
4. Bleed it Out (LP performed this on SNL last weekend, good tune albeit slightly repetitive)
6. What I've done
8. No More Sorrow (Metallica fans, listen to this song and note at the 47 second mark if that riff sounds familiar! Due to the Rick Rubin influence?)
So yeah, not the greatest album, but still some decent tunes. Here is hoping that Chester does a solo album, cause that would be cool!

I'm probably the biggest LP fan and I have given it a couple listens and yeah, the songs you listed definitely stand out from the rest. Given Up and No More Sorrow are my favs. The slower songs are really growing on me and I find myself flipping the track to Valentine's Day and number 7, can't remember what it's called.
To be honest, I really like this CD, having said that, it would have to take a lot for me not to like a CD that LP makes. You can tell they are trying something totally different for them and I think you have to give them credit. A big knock on Linkin was that their earlier stuff sounded the same, you can't say that about Minutes to Midnight. You may not like it, fine, but don't tell me that it sounds the same as their old stuff.
After all that, I think that this is easily my least favorite of the three major releases.
