I'll be interested to see what your Raiders do with Pierce. Being a mid-season replacement sometimes can be easier because it's providing leadership to get a team refocused. You don't have to plan the offseason program and training camp or be part of the roster construction or really hire the rest of the coaching staff. You just have to coach.
I think Pierce embodies more of the traditional Raider culture myself. So I think he should get a long look. But I'm not as sure if that cast off type us against the world culture resonates in Las Vegas the way it did in Oakland.
Come offseason and you get guys like Harbaugh or whomever else is high on lists selling a program to the owner, guys who are good at coaching and leading may not be able to sell the hype in their pitch.
