If a goalie plays 60 games with 30 shots vs on avg. the difference between a .880 and .920 is 72 goals. More than a goal a game!
The odds are also higher the team with the lower save % is playing from behind more often.

That’s why save % can be a flawed stat. There’s no accounting for shot quality. A goalie can play better in a 5-4 game than a shutout.
At moment Markstrom’s save % is better than Oettinger’s tonight. It’s not indicative of much.
