That logic only applies in small one offs. Over the course of time the save % is VERY important.
You will not find a team leading the league in save % and not making the playoffs.
If a goalie plays 60 games with 30 shots vs on avg. the difference between a .880 and .920 is 72 goals. More than a goal a game!
The odds are also higher the team with the lower save % is playing from behind more often.
