We have to remember - Markstrom has red flags around him as well. Turcotte could be an attempt at a home run.
Look at Byfield and Lafreniere this season. It takes time for healthy players to click - and Turcotte looks like he's had some injury problems along the way. If those are behind him? There's upside there.

He'd be a fine piece.
No way should he be the center piece of a deal when you are retaining over $6M to make the deal happen.
Byfield and Lafreniere are both younger than Turcotte, and have been better at the NHL level and it's not even close.
Turcotte might pop, but at this point there is a reason he's only played 8 NHL games and been passed in the Kings organization, and it's not just injury.
