No pain, no itch -- it doesn't look too severe but still kind of strange. She asked the doctor about it and basically got no info, suggested a steroid cream (it's always that or an inhaler with this guy, he's diagnosed all my kids with asthma a bunch of times when they just had colds).

So we went to Dr. Google and found that's actually a symptom of insulin resistance, and in more severe cases could lead to type 2 diabetes. The pictures look almost exactly the same (though the pictures are much more severe cases of course). Gee, would've been nice to learn that from a DOCTOR.
What makes you think you are right here?

Based on your Internet research you now change your son’s diet reducing sugar and you get the steroid cream. Rash goes away. Now you don’t know why it goes away. Instead of you use the steroid cream, it goes away and doesn’t come back then perhaps there is nothing to worry about and it was in fact a random rash.

Essentially your google research is identifying what it could be and not the liklihood of that’s what it is.
