So this trade proposal is Zaddy for a 2nd and a bad cap dump. Not worth it. Would rather just take a 3rd or 4th straight up. 1st and Chiarot is worth considering. Maybe Veleno+2nd+Chiarot?

No disrespect, but I have to disagree with you when it comes to Buium and Wallinder. Neither are top-pairing guys, but they will be excellent second-pairing guys in the NHL someday. Wallinder was 13th in D scoring in the SHL last season as a 20 year-old. He's 6'4", and a great skater and stickhandler with a quality 2-way game. This year, he's struggling a bit adapting to the AHL, but he'll be fine.
Since being drafted in 2021, Buium has put up the following totals in the NCAA: 18 in 39 games, 21 in 38 games, and 10 in 12 games this year. Buium is 6'3"220 lbs, and plays a more simple, rugged style than Wallinder. Neither player is a garbage prospect, far from it. Detroit has one of my favorite prospects in Marco Kasper, but we're not getting anywhere near him.
As for taking on Chiarot's contract, that's where we agree- I wouldn't want any part of that, but we would most likely have to take salary back.
