That's typically the case with domestic abuse calls. Lucic was arrested and placed under bail conditions. He's already being punished. Not being able to go home, play hockey, or see your children for many weeks or months is a pretty big punishment. As a father, not being able to see my kid for a few months would kill me.

Based on what I've seen, assuming this is a first offence, the kind of violence that left the victim with a few red marks but no permanent damage or severe bruising is not likely to lead to a jail sentence. Just a prolonged period of not being able to see your kids, counselling, and thinking about your own life choices. Regardless of whether he did it or not, the punishment is likely to be pretty close to the same.
