Just seems like a lot of folks are having pretty much 0 patience for our GM to figure out the right moves and make sure he sets the team up for success. Sometimes the environment dictates a little bit of the "how" someone executes a strategy. Declaring we need to wait until after Xmas, isn't necessary all driven by the GM wanting to see more for himself. It also might be dictated by the quality of the offers. I'm sure Conroy has a desired return (and a lowest acceptable offer) for these assets. Why wouldn't he wait until he gets his price? The team started slow, the assets we are moving didn't exactly help their value in the first few weeks, and it made the team look desperate. If the team keeps playing a little better - we look less desperate and the assets look better, the offers will likely get better.

Just not sure why people get so upset that our GM hasn't pulled the trigger on deals in what would seemingly be the part of the season where he'd get the worse return.

Conroy not responding to trade requests is huge. Let's the agents know they are not dictating the direction of the organization. Backlund having a talk with the players about it also confirms the Flames not giving control to the players, they get paid to play.

Conroy's patience creates more internal bidding as teams now don't know who has the edge to aquire available players. Waiting until after Christmas might just mean driving up the returns as other teams start to become impatient. I imagine the price for 2 defenseman going to Toronto will be high as Treliving will be pressed to give out a first to live up to his past dealings. Doubt Toronto is getting anything unless they are ready to pay a premium.
