There are teams trying to move this along. All 4 players will get better returns if extensions are involved. Didn’t get the sense they have given teams permission but some teams are talking about it. The Leafs and Dallas will be a player in this. The Islanders are around this. Arizona for Hanifin. Toronto still wants Z and Tanev

The Coyotes, unlike the other interested teams, have some cap space. About $3.6 mill.
I think it makes sense to deal with them first - the Flames wouldn't have to take much salary back. Hanifin would have a lot of value if the Coyotes could negotiate an extension. Hanifin also has decent production to begin the year, so his present value remains high.
Once most of Hanifin's cap hit is cleared, the Flames would have much more flexibility in dealing with teams like Toronto and Dallas. This flexibility would allow the Flames to really get a lot of value.
