It is good to see the flames players that are likely to be traded playing better the last couple weeks. I think Conroy is in a position to be patient and wait for the right deal. Hopefully they all stay healthy and can return some solid picks/prospects. The flames are in a unique situation as most teams usually have 1 or 2 quality players that are UFAs. Even rebuilding teams. The flames have four of them in a year when they are poised to start a rebuild. They should all return good value if they are healthy all the way up to the trade deadline.
Closer to the trade deadline, more teams will be confident in their playoff position and will be ready to trade first and second round picks by then. And it helps the flames that their available players are the ones that are the most coveted for teams wanting to go deep into the playoffs… defencemen and a center.
