Exciting game. The most important aspect of a Flames' game (IMO of course) is to be entertaining. They have been entertaining a lot lately. Hope it continues. Can't win every game, can't lose every game, i am just enjoying the entertainment that this team is bringing every night now.

Huberdeau is starting to really turn his game around. At the start of the year, even when he did put up points I felt he was the worst player on the ice - for either team. Now he seems to be putting his game back together. You can tell that he is still not quite there with his confidence, but the turnovers are slowly being eradicated, and the passes are starting to connect. That was a hell of a nice pass to Backlund. He had 3 or 4 really solid plays tonight, even one on defence. Hope he keeps it up. Confidence is everything, and if he can really recover his game, he will be such a good comeback story, and a guy that is hard to cheer against.

Pospisil and Zary - they keep flip-flopping on who is the best young guy. Lucky the Flames made room for both! Ruzicka, Brodie, Gaudreau, Lydman, Reichel, Kulak - what do these players all have in common? They were all taken in the 4th round. Ruzicka is an NHL'er, and I argue is growing his game. Kulak is a decent depth defencemen. The rest are unquestionably 1st round talents. It is still early, but it certainly seems like Pospisil is a 1st round talent too.

I think we can all point and laugh at prospect pool rankings now as they always had the Flames near the bottom of the list, yet the Flames are continually graduating impact players into the NHL. There are a few more coming up still that are probably NHL ready - Coronato deserves to be on this team (8 pts in 7 games), Klapka (10 pts in 13 games) and I argue Pettersen (10 pts in 13 games) does as well. I didn't really love Ben Jones in training camp and preseason, but 13 points in 13 games says he deserves a closer look. It is a small sample size, but even Kerins is 7 points in 7 games, so looks like he is having a rebound season which is nice to see. There are more players worth talking about as well. Let's just say that this organization has been a great drafting team, and that there are a nice handful of players that either belong in the NHL, or are pushing for long looks.
